After spending 5 days in Rio de Janeiro I can see how time might go a bit fast there. We had lots of fun and Im still uploading the many pictures Ive taken there. It was a good start and now Im off to see more of brazil.

Last saturday we ventured out to the city (Campinas) and got to witness some live capoeira, which was quite the exciting treat. At the fera hippi we also got to enjoy some delicious snacks and see some of the brazillian daytime (we dont do much of that).

Itatiba Zoo Park

Some of our friends took us to the Itatiba Zoo Park so that we could finally behold the magic of the monkeys and the other wild creatures of brazil, of course within the comfort of caged environment. You don't want the crazy birds to come peck your eyes out do you?

For some reason we've been finding ourselves going out every night. And not for a few afternoon drinks but for a complete night of dancing, which seems to entail staying out till 5am. Its a bit much a times but now it's kind of a sad night when we don't get to go out. The latest set of pictures shows one of our groups of friends that take us (force us) out on these nightly adventures.

Coincidentally while I'm here, one of the great bars of Campinas is having their 5 year anniversary, which means that we're getting treated with some of the best music of this country (I think). Here's Tantinho de Magueira, of the Rio de Janeiro School.

So now im in Brazil. Its purely random of course, as it always seems to be with me. I was sent here to do some research at the Universidad de Campinas, in São Paulo, Brazil. It's quite the change from the US and Europe (though not so much from PR); eating delicious foods everyday, drinking tons of fruit drinks, playing futbol and dancing forró. The people are of course super awesome, though their language could be a little more straight forward :)

I've started posting pictures again, this one of the Radio Livre tower at Unicamp.

I've just put up a few new pictures, just because. Just because I haven't, just because I have a few new ones, just because. Several of them I realize have been taken on simple walks through this small town I will now reside it for the next few years. They are quiet pictures, serene in their lack of motion but by no means devoid of life. Like the crystals on that honda, life here is simple but perfect.
